Benefits of Installing a Truck Backup Camera

Friday, February 24th, 2012

Trucks are great for so many reasons. They are the only vehicle capable of hauling large loads of cargo, they are extremely rugged, they can handle almost any terrain, and so much more. But one thing trucks lack is maneuverability. Pickups, especially large pickups, are not always the easiest vehicles to backup.

With your truck bed loaded to the max, you just can’t see anything in the rear view mirror, so you turn around to make sure everything is all clear. This creates massive blind spots. And these blind spots make backing up a real headache.

There is, however, a simple solution to your problem; you could install an aftermarket license plate backup camera.

Advantages of Truck Backup Cameras

  • Avoid Damage to Your Truck: Back up cameras allow you to avoid those irritating dings and dents.
  • Make Driving Easier: When used along with the rear view mirror, a backup camera allows you to back out of even the tightest spot with ease.
  • Eliminate Blind Spots: The camera transmits a signal to a dash-mounted monitor, allowing drivers to view everything behind them.
  • Increase Safety: Now you can see everything, from toys and trashcans to pets and small children.

Ladder racks are crucial automotive accessories for any contractor, carpenter, plumber, or even just the average Joe.  A pickup ladder rack will greatly enhance the capabilities of your truck.

Benefits of Ladder Racks

  • No longer will you have to haul those long boards, pipes or other objects with your tailgate down.
  • Minimizes the risk you pose to other drivers on the road.
  • Minimizes the risk of falling ladders, tools, pipes, lumber, and more!
  • Helps avoid unsightly scratches to your body’s paint.
  • Allows for maximum cargo capacity.
  • Cab protection.
  • A great way to transport more than just ladders.
  • Also great for hauling lumber, pipes, and other long loads without taking up space in your truck bed.
  • Most of our truck ladder racks work with bedliners, tool boxes, and other accessories.

As you can see, there are plenty of advantages of truck ladder racks!

There is no need to take up precious storage space. There is no need for rope, bungy cords, straps, or tie-downs. A ladder rack will help you easily and effortlessly mount your work ladder and other awkwardly long tools and accessories out of the way, maximizing your cargo load.

The Benefits of a Class 3 Trailer Hitch

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

Trailer hitches are given a “class” rating that defines their towing capacity and receiver opening size, with classes range from class I to class V. We have already explained the differences between each type of trailer hitch class. Now, we are going to focus our attention on one hitch in particular – the class 3 hitch.

The Benefits of a Class III Trailer Hitch include:

  • A class 3 heavy-duty hitch is the type of hitch considered for general towing.
  • A class III hitch can handle a gross trailer weight (GTW) of up to 5,000 lbs.
  • A class III towing hitch can handle a maximum tongue weight of 500 lbs.
  • Class III hitches are ideal for towing midsize campers and boats.
  • A class III heavy-duty hitch can be installed on most midsize and full-size pickup trucks, vans and SUVs.

A class 3 hitch is the third lightest hitch on the market. Typically installed on vans, SUVs, and trucks, these hitches are best suited for towing midsize trailers, campers, and boats. For more heavy duty towing, you should consider a class 4 trailer hitch or higher.

To find out if a Class 3 Trailer Hitch is tough enough to handle your towing needs, contact Trick Trucks to talk to one of our experts. Trick Trucks carries an extensive line of towing products, so we know what we are talking about. We sell and install trailer hitches for every make and model vehicle, from cars and small trucks, to large pickups capable of towing boats, campers, RVs, horse trailers and heavy commercial equipment.

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Are you looking for a way to give your truck that wow factor? Well, there is one way to give your pickup such a wow factor that even you will have to pick your jaw up off the ground. How can you accomplish this? The answer is quite simple…

Install a suspension left kit!

There are several reasons why a truck owner may choose to do this, but the biggest benefits of truck suspension lift kits include:

Style: First and foremost, a list kit will add unequivocal style to your pickup. As you drive down the road, heads will be sure to turn as your newly lifted truck doesn’t draw attention…it demands it!

Performance: Ready for some off-roading? If you have recently installed a truck suspension lift kit, you are. These lift kits not only give your truck that wow factor, they also increase your truck’s functionality.

  • Increased Clearance: Lift kits enable steeper ascent or descent off-road, and higher ground clearance.
  • Larger Tires: Large truck tires improve your pickup’s performance in mud, deep snow, rocks, and deeply rutted trails.

If you are planning to install a lift kit in your truck, it is advisable to consult a mechanic or expert first so that you can discuss it in detail. Or, better yet, leave the entire job to a truck parts and accessories installation specialist, like Trick Trucks!
